Valient Thorr

This is some intense stuff. It's energetic metal that's as foot-stompingly catchy as metal can be. Rousing vocal melodies, slaying guitar lines, and rough vocals make for an excellent party band. But that's not to discredit their music; Valient Thorr know how to write songs. Somtimes the music quiets so that sweat-covered frontman Valient Himself can rant, sometimes inanely.

Contrary to some predispositions generated by their name. Valient Thorr is not a power metal band. They have written the only good blatantly anti-war song of the decade. Some of their lyrics are simple and straightforward, but there's nothing wrong with that. Apparently a live show is something of a religious experience, be that good or bad.


Oh yeah, and they also claim to be from inside the planet Venus.
